So, I saw Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl and I love--absolutely adore--the Pirates franchise and now here I am poking at a space/sci-fi version...

Is there room for characters other than those listed? Or even an alien character?

Yes. We want the main roles filled obviously, but second characters are most welcome or, if there are four people taking the main roles, first characters can be completely original.

Also, we want to give a lot of freedom to the creativity of the main characters. That is, we want Will to be very not Will, yet still capture his essence and general purpose.

It would be cool if any original characters made tied to someone or something in Pirates - for example, maybe Gibbs is their name or someone has a fake eye, etc

Edit: Syrena, you can totally be [Elizabeth], if you want.

Also, Digi, We're trying to make most of the mythos of PotC into "alien" in this RP. So I guess any alien like characters should probably ode to Davy Jones and crew. Though arguably, [Barbossa] probably has or has had some pretty heavy dealings with aliens.

This is all up to us and how we want to be inspired so, we want to be as creative as possible, but just tie back frequently.

Do you have a character skeleton you'd like us to use or shall we just wing it?

We will create one, probably this evening!

Edit: I happened to have time to work on it. I just put up a really simple one, feel free to add more if necessary.

I posted a list of every character that had facetime during PotC. I was going to link images to each one, but decided that was too much. If you want to know who a certain person is, and googling doesn't help, just ask me and I'll find an image.

Is it possible to play more than one character?

I saw Anamaria on the list and was thinking I might like to play her as well. Provided no one else has any interest in playing Anamaria. If anyone has interest in Anamaria, I'll drop her. I just thought it might be fun to have two characters. ^.^

Everyone is welcome to as many side characters as they please! Just keep in mind that she would not show up until later (since her first appearance was half way through the movie). Also keep in mind that you can switch genders.

For example, ill be turning Ragetti into a not so comical female with cybernetic eye. We're filling these roles but, we can fill them creatively!

I was thinking that a smaller role as well as [Elizabeth's] larger role would be a nice mix. I don't want to drown under too many characters. At least not right away. xD.

Ooh, I can't wait to see your Ragetti. I'm going to have to sit down and watch the movie tonight so I can get some inspiration for the characters!

Since mine and Ysopet's characters aren't in the first scene, we will probably be taking a little while longer to get them up. But by tomorrow we will post an opening scene intro. Basically each chapter we posted up will start with an opening scene where we describe the setting with as much detail as necessary to give you so that the characters involved can execute said scene. We can also use a couple of NPC's to keep the scene going if you guys find yourselves needing a bit of a boost. In the OOC we will post up a summary of the entire scene so that all players involved know exactly what plot points they need to hit to complete the scene. Then we will move on to the next one.

xD! I'm just glad to have some extra time to get my character sheet up.

Edit(March 26): I'm still here! It's just been a hell of a week. Or month. Or something. I finally got a job(!) and then mother nature stole my Internet with a vicious snow storm, and there was also an early morning trip to the emergency room--everything is kind of crazy right now.

But I do have most of my profile done! I'll have it up soon. Really! And I'm keeping up with everything in the OOC. Anyway, I just wanted to say that I'm still here and I really want to be a part of this.
