I think Dax was helping me with Äm, right? He would have the most right to, anyway, since they're both ancestors and descendants of the Vatienniens.

Yes, definately. Speaking of Am, we must do something with them, Kalon! What exactly, I have no idea. I know they will be present further down in the roleplay for Jean's plot, but that's it. Maybe it should stay that way.

Unless someone wants to do something/interact with them sooner than later? If anyone does, just tell me or Kalon.

I am instituting a new rule starting now. I need any major ideas, decisions, or plot devices to be cleared by Ryona or I, and all parties directly involved, before they are posted. And once they are cleared by me, they need to be placed in the OOC for any other members that might be affected by it, for the sake of them having their say. If it comes down to an argument, I will make the final decision on it. Basically this rule comes down to this: no more secrets.

This was a core part of the role-play from the beginning. I'm not sure how we moved away from it, but we are going back to it now. Sorry if this disappoints anyone, but this is how it is going to be. We've tried to just trust people, but so far it isn't working. We are being taken advantage of...everyone is really. So it needs to end.

Can I not have to reveal every twist of my plan? Somethings are a little sensitive or have no possible way to affect anyone save myself. Like internal things. Or are completely limited to mutual NPCs such as the thing with Danger's pirate lords.

I'm not going to argue about this. There is no "too sensitive." This is a collaborative RP. We should be writing it together.

I am not trying to argue. That is not my intention. My intention is to say that there are some things that don't really concern anyone else in any way. I do plan to alert everyone who is getting a dark invasion of the fact that they will be invaded and I am already working on hashing it out with people.

Perhaps you could give a certain indicator of what is considered major enough to need approval from you and the group en-mass?

Post by Guest Thu Sep 02, 2010 3:29 pm

Let me put it this way: if you want something to happen, or to introduce something into the role-play, you need to let the others know about it beforehand. This includes invasions, new creatures or species, special powers, etc. I'm not talking exclusively about large-scale things. Even small-scale personal things can affect other players when it comes to person-to-person interaction. If you don't make it known, then you risk being told to change it or having it ignored.

I am tired of all of the arguments and secret plotting. Make your plans and ideas known, or risk getting them cut out. It is that simple.

So, what needs approval? Theoretically verything. However, doing that is your choice. Perhaps there is something you really just want to keep secret. If it only affects you, then that is fine. I won't argue when it comes to light just because you didn't talk about it before hand. However, if it has any effect whatsoever on other players, for example a power you might want to have that helps you fight or whatever, and you don't tell us before hand, you can't expect it to stay if no one agrees with it.

That is what the OOC is for, it is what collaborative role-play means. I don't want secrets, I don't want surprises, because I'm tired of all the arguments.

Haha, that would make the position of GM rather redundant...

And while we can't force anyone to reveal secrets, we just want to be clear that if something is sprung on someone and they don't like it, it may not stay. That will be up to me to decide, but I think you all can trust me to be fair. I haven't let you down yet. We have promoted openness and sharing from the beginning, but it seems that it needed a bit of a push.

Emoria: OOC - Page 33 Empty Re: Emoria: OOC

Post by Dax Thu Sep 02, 2010 7:51 pm

Yah, and CSIS. I mean, that Org is soo secretive I bet you don't even know it existed. I myself just figured out it's existence but last year because of recent scandals involving it. Then again, it's not like we know much about it anyway. Damn spies. Can't trust 'em. Even for us canadians. And yes, the CSIS (see-sis) is the 'fabled' *cough* canadian spy agency.

ANYWAY, I am mainly posting to reveal a SPOILAH! Yes, I am about to reveal a revealing revelation that will reveal the revealing truth about the future of Vatienne politics and the poor diplomats that must contend with it!

Of course, I am talking about Jean. What happens to the pric...I mean poor guy, you say? Why, he becomes Papus of Vatienne, of course! What fun.

Be happy, however, because certain emotional/personnality haulovers happen when the Papus' get initiated. I have to confess, he will become much less of a pain to deal with, though. He will be 'wiser, calmer and gentler'. That is not to say that if Ayurent or Saint... I mean certain respectable dignataries piss him off he will stay all calm and serene.

Just to add to the fun, Jean will be getting a slight buff in the terms of his priestly abilities, but that doesn't matter since he scarcley fights one v one, or fight at all for that reason. Basically he gets stronger healing capablilities, this aura thing that insipires or 'fills with light' Vatiennien and/or friendly soldiers nearby and a slightly harder punch when he flings a light bolt (I am not sure how to call it...). The aura thing can be traced to the simple psyche of having the leader of your religion fighting next to you, which is why it is stronger on Vatienniens, those of Am and the Thendari above all, because they are all fervent followers of the Sanctus Unus. There is a magical property, but the self psyche simply makes it more, well, recognizable.

Anyway, that was what I wanted to say. How is that for leading with exampe. Now come, Plague and Shadow, continue this shining example of leadership you have inspired. That is unless you have nothing to share. In which case disregard this completley. In fact, if that is the case, just forget this entire last paragraph was ever created.

That is all.

Ah yes, since it took me awhile to post this (it was intended to go right after Plague's post, but Ryona and loki just beat me to it xD), I would like to answer Loki's question: I would say it is about 2ish in the afternoon, maybe slightly earlier. The meeting started around noon, which is why I figured about 2- 1 1/2 hours length for the council.

Emoria: OOC - Page 33 Empty Re: Emoria: OOC

Post by Guest Thu Sep 02, 2010 8:08 pm

Let me continue this shining example... I was planning on doing this earlier, but I didn't want to double post.

There are a couple of things I need to address, so bear with this potentially long post.

1. Spire
Spire will be attacking Valinyx, and Valinxy will be using Spectre's nation to arm itself for war (because the Ordis Sect is under the sway of Morgarath and is slowly overpowering the Order itself). So, eventually, Spire and Valinyx will collide in war. This leaves Spire open to the beasts that surround it in the mountains, as well as whoever has ideas of moving against Spire during a time of weakness. Of course, no one would know their intentions unless they have spies in place, so please remember not to consider this information as IC information... But I'm sure you all know that.

Spire can, for all I care, be destroyed. I am open to anything really. So if you have any ideas, please do share.

2. The Jasidin Swamplands will be attacking Fermata. Of course, Ryona plans on succeeding, which would wipe Fermata off of the map. Her reasoning? I don't remember... I will let her fill that in herself. But again, that leaves her own homeland weak. So, think about potential plot points there.

3. Ryona and I would like this role-play to stick around for a while. We really aren't in any rush to finish it. Of course, we would like to get the ball rolling and start actually role-playing Wink But, as Ryona said to me, we wouldn't mind if we were still playing this 10 years down the road. So, keep in mind, by the end of this, your views on Emoria, as well as the face of Emoria itself, can change drastically. Please, don't rush anything. Don't make rash decisions. The end of Chapter 1 should be nowhere near the end of the story.

I'd say it's afternon. 2-3 like dax said sounds good.

Also, Jasidin doesn't have to destroy Fermata. They are just going to war. This will leave them weak on their homeland so if anyone wants to fight them they will have an advantage. But the land is pretty poor so it isn't much advantage.

I'll keep this thing going.

In case anyone thought Raptor was just randomly about to kill off two pirate Lords and without my knowledge, that's not the case. In fact it was my idea.

Plot:

Lady Ada Voras (the leader of Boyd's clan) has secretly been in cahoots with the Dark One prior to the council of evil. The two had constructed an agreement. If Morgarath kills the other two pirate Lords it will make their clans vulnerable for a takeover, which is where Ada comes in. She wants to consume control over all the pirates, and once she has power over the other two clans she will swear her allegiance to the Dark Lord and aid him to whatever end in his war efforts against Emoria. Boyd, however, has no idea of this plot, and neither should you lol!

So...should I post next in Fermata?

Edit: I'm posting.

For those of you that are interested, in Kathryn Lacey's character sheet there is a picture of the great library as well as descriptions of Taure Arda.

Also, in my post, I have described the southwestern road leading away from the great library as having many inns that are decorated in the fashion of western and northern cultures. Kind of like a cheesy medieval las vegas, if you will. There are inns that resemble Traemador, Spire, the Swamplands, and presumely Arbia and Valinyx as well. So if anyone travels this road, they can describe some of these cheesy inns.

Emoria: OOC - Page 33 Empty Re: Emoria: OOC

Post by Guest Fri Sep 03, 2010 3:53 pm

War plan here. The first phase of war plans. I want to note though that the Zombie plague is to be unleashed on Sretin before this stuff is happening. It has been will be done or whatever the right tense is when lady and ryona have made their characters that will be in it.

Ok so to begin the actual war phase the tyrnir will be unleashed. Now rather than unleashing them on kvatch which is what everyone will be expecting we will instead use another method, be it barges, MON fleet, or pirates to transfer them. They will be moved into position to attack both the Jasidan sorceresses and the Quende. They will be instructed to attempt to destroy and conquer both of those nations if possible. Just as the nations of the world being to react to the tyrnir's unbelievably bold attack the pirates will be unleashed as well as the Aryens I have employed from deadeye. The pirates will have been given instructions to blockade several major cities. A particularly major one is the city of spire which depends on naval ports to supply itself and remain alive. The Aryens will be called on primarily to walk around seemingly at random and kill stuff. In fact they will be slowly making their way in a very roundabout route towards the quende city. Their main purpose is to jsut be a massive distraction and tie up armies that need to watch out for them raiding.

The Zombie plague that the Masterlich raised up in sretin will be transported onto barges that supposedly are bringing a group of refugees fleeing the zombies. The zombies will emerged into vattiene from the barges and attempt to pretty much destroy it. Even if they fail what is important is that they keep vattiene busy. The Naether Wraiths will be dispatched to the thendari island to cause as much havok as possible and keep the thendari from being able to send aid to the other nations.

Ok, once that point is reached and the world is realing morgarath's own armies of darkness will be deployed in a three pronged attack. The Mountains of night fleet will join up with the pirates to launch a renewed attack on spire, while this is happening the creatures in the woods around spire who also serve morgarath will join in the assualt upon the city. Another force of the MoN army will march on Vattienne to aid in destroying the nation that the zombies will hopefully have already critically weakened. To support the Naether wraiths a final full strength army of darkness will be dispatched to actively engage and attack the thendari on their own turf. They will not be trying to actually conquer but rather to keep the thendari busy while the rest of emoria falls to the darkness. Some remaining elements of the combined evil navy will assist in that. The Tyrnir will also launch a secondary strike on Kvatch at this point with the goal of overrunning them as likely their military has moved to support the other nations

Ok below this is stuff that only really applies to people going to the mountains after the council. you already know about it but in case someone else has a problem I have posted it ^^

Ok so after the council ends, those who wish to be brought and shown the mountains of the night will be allowed to do so. They will be escorted to the northwatch, the great northern wall. In keeping with the story that the gatekeeper to the great gate was 'kidnapped' the gate will not be opened and rather a ladder of some kind will be set up to allow them to climb over the wall and enter. It should be noted that all nonhuman members of the army and garrisons as well as all of them who dwell in the area the ambassadors will pass through will be hiding and laying extremely low.

The ambassadors will then be given a large escort of soldiers from the wall who will begin the process of escorting them to the Darktower and the city around its base. On their way there, probably the second night they and the escort will be attacked in a staged battle by a group of highers and a bunch of orclike creatures. The highers and creatures will be driven off as is planned and the group will continue onwards. This is to give credit to the statement that while morgarath is dead and gone some darkness yet lingers and the people of the mountains fight against the savage things that still roam their lands.

So after the attack the escort will continue to guide the ambassadors to the dark tower. they will pass through and by a few other scattered fortresses and towns. around some of these installations evidence of further battles will be found. These will have also been staged previously to help with the continued illusion. Now note that not all places have the evidence of fights, that would just seem odd some places having evidence of it makes more sense. Eventually they will reach the city that surrounds the dark tower.

At that point they will be brought into the city and escorted to a fair sized building that will appear to be a pallace of some kind, if a rather dingy and downtrodden one. There they will be introduced to the supposed 'empress' of the mountains of night, or Avarinne
She will welcome them to the mountains and give a short speech of sorts about how life is here and the current state of things, and how happy she is to have visitors after so long. lots of blah-blah stuff. Anyway moving on, she reveals that the darktower has supposedly been sealed since the battle 2,000 years ago when morgarath 'died.' The next day or later that same day perhaps the ambassadors will be led by her and escort to the dark tower itself. The massive gates will clearly be sealed shut. A soldier will demonstrate what happens when people try to open it, by trying and then collapsing dead. This is to show that the darktower while still there is no longer any den of evil as it has been sealed off for 2,000 years.

After that they will be taken to see the other pieces of evidence. Now as morgarath has been planning this for a long time he had these built years and years ago and so they look old enough. There are several shrines of sorts in which the artifacts of the Darklord and his items of power are stored and put on display to show what happened in the past and what must not happen again. Now all the artifiacts will be there save one. Avarinne will explain that recently the guards who guarded that shrine had been found slaughtered and the Book of Hours, Morgarath's big book in which many of the nastier dark magics were recorded had been taken. This is to support the belief that it must have been a rogue mage behind the kidnappings rather than a 2000 years dead ghost.

All the artifacts on display will be genuine and so give off the energy signature they normally would. Morgarath is placing them on display for the sake of allaying suspicion. After all of that is done they will be allowed to leave and escorted back out for their own saftey given the hostile nature of the land.

Emoria: OOC - Page 33 Empty Re: Emoria: OOC

Post by Gadreille Fri Sep 03, 2010 4:13 pm

I personally have no issues, though I have asked Raptorman to describe the wraiths and such with a bit more detail. (Plague, if you would, describe the lich and zombies?)

Jasidin will be destroyed, as will Spire. Eventually, at least.
Also, Nolwe Osto won't be destroyed, or at least, not for a very long time.

If anyone has issues/questions/suggestions, they may post here, or PM Raptorman or Silvone or myself.

Note: Since these plans involve many others, don't consider this post as my acceptance. I realize that everyone needs to be OK with this before we set to make it happen. However, it seems like a great story that would bring Emoria on the brink of despair before they find a way to destroy Morgarath, so I hope that we are willing to work with this or something close to it.

Post by Dax Fri Sep 03, 2010 4:25 pm

yes well, Vatienne (by the way Raptor, and everyone else, it is VaTIENNE, not Vattiene Smile ) will be pretty much occupied by the main 'army of darkness' other than the capital and the island provinces, where the remaining army/navy and civlians are all bunched up. It is also where Vatienne will launch raid/excursions upon its mainland to eventually lead up to a recapturing thing.

Also, when the thendari will be getting attacked, Jean (who will by then be Papus, I think) Buzz (If he and Jean are still chilling) and one/some of Kalon's paladins will be on the island. Not sure why I wanted to add that. Maybe just to put into evidence the low morale that the remaining army of Vatienne will be suffering on the isles, you know, without their leader and whatnot.

Yah... that's it. xD

Well, to be honest, we never got to that point in our discussions. The last thing I remember is me suggesting three outcomes with Vatienne at different strength levels on each one, and you seemes to have agreed on that last one, even though you never actually said 'Yes, let's do that one.'

Besides, I have no intention of letting Vatienne get destroyed, I am much too attached to the little pricks. xD

If you want, we can discuss about it further. I think we will have to do so. So hit me up when you can.

Post by Guest Fri Sep 03, 2010 4:56 pm

In my own opinion, I think Vatienne should be one of the few places to survive. Because of its lack of ownership, out of the two I think the Library should fall rather than Vatienne, but I also think that the Library should last for quite a while as well, as it is a major source of power.

Post by Gadreille Fri Sep 03, 2010 5:06 pm

Well, Fermata and Sretin were abandoned, so I have no problem there. Also, for Spire and Jasidin, Silvone and I giving them up is kind of proof that we are not going to abuse our GMing power. It's a balance, if you will. It also gives other people room to not let theirs fall, since I know it is a hard thing to let happen.

Anyway, Some of our people might survive...

Also, as for now, the Library is not falling. I just admit its open for debate in the future.

Emoria: OOC - Page 33 Empty Re: Emoria: OOC

Post by Guest Fri Sep 03, 2010 5:11 pm

My idea isn't final, but this is how I would like to see things end up. Based on Raptorman's setup, he has a pretty good chance of doing some damage. A lot of places are going to fall. I would like to see the light at the end of the tunnel be Vatienne. I think it would be interesting for that to be the city that restores Emoria, once the war has ended. I think Vatienne should be the guiding light for restoration. I think that if Vatienne falls, the rest of Talonia doesn't really stand a chance.

Spire is a large military force, and while their city falls, i think I may have most of the mlitary survive, since it will be outside of the city already, and perhaps have them retreat to Vatienne and help their military. I don't know if their king will survive or not though.

Anyway, that is my opinion.

Right, the first two make sense. But both Spire and Jasidin? I'm having trouble taking well with that. Not to mention I think Loki talked about Kvatch being overrun also. There arent too many good guy PC nations left after that...
